James Morrison was born James Morrison Catchpole in 1984 in Rugby, Warwicke, England. He states his musical influences to include Al Green, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens and the Kinks. At 13 he began to learn guitar when his uncle showed him how to play a blues riff. He started busking when he d at Porth near Newquay, in Cornwall. After years of playing other musicians songs, he eventually started to write his own. Polydor Productions signed him and he was the supporting artist for Corinne Bailey Rae on her tour supporting her debut album. Morrison released his first album, 'Undiscovered' on the July 31st 2006, and it topped the UK album charts in its first week of release.

'Songs For You, Truths For Me' is the second album by English singer, songwriter and guitarist James Morrison, released on September 29th 2008. The first single from the album was 'You Make It Real', released on September 22nd 2008, the second single 'Broken Strings' [featuring Canadian pop/R&B singer Nelly Furtado] on December 8th 2008. 'Nothing Ever Hurt Like You' was also released, as a United States exclusive, in September. The album reached No.3 in the UK Albums Chart.

David Roland Cook [born December 20th 1982 in Houston, Texas] is an American singer-songwriter. On May 21st 2008, he won the seventh season of the reality television show American Idol. Raised in Blue Springs, Missouri,Cook's interest in music began early in life. He began singing in second grade, when his elementary school music teacher gave him a solo in a school choir performance. He proceeded to perform in virtually every Christmas and PTA program. He received his first guitar, a Fender Stratocaster, at the age of 12. He also participated in choir and drama programs in middle school and high school. At Blue Springs South High School, he performed in musicals. Cook was the lead singer and guitarist of the band Axium [chosen as the best band in Kansas City in 2004] from 1999 until 2006, having formed Axium in his junior year of high school with drummer Bobby Kerr. In 2006, after the breakup of Axium, Cook relocated to Tulsa, Oklahoma, and joined the regional touring band Midwest Kings [MWK], playing guitar, bass, and singing backup vocals. He recorded one EP with the band in 2006. Cook released a solo independent album, 'Analog Heart' in 2006, for which he also designed the artwork. Cook won the Urban Tulsa Weekly's "Absolute Best of Tulsa" award for "Best Locally Produced, Independent Album" in 2007. Cook auditioned for American Idol in Nebraska, performing Bon Jovi's 'Livin' On A Prayer'. He originally did not plan to try out for the show. Cook came to the auditions initially to support his younger brother Andrew [who did not make it to Hollywood] and then, at his brother's urging, David tried out himself.

'David Cook' is the major-label debut album [second overall] from seventh season American Idol winner David Cook and was released on November 18th 2008 in the United States. Produced by Rob Cavallo [My Chemical Romance, Green Day] Cook ders an album of classic American radio rock similar in vein to Bon Jovi, Collective Soul and Counting Crows. The album debuted at the No.3 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, with s of 280,000 copies in the United States. It has currently sold over 714,000 units. The album also broke digital s records for a debut artist, selling 59,000 copies electronically. The first single, 'Light On', was released to U.S. radio on September 30th 2008. The song sold 109,000 digital downloads in its first week of availability, leading to a No.17 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 and No.8 on the Hot Digital Songs chart. Track 12 includes a hidden track 'Kiss On The Neck' which I have extracted for your listening convenience and named Track 14.

9 is the extraordinary follow-up to young Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice's critically acclaimed 2002 debut album O-which sold more than 2 million copies worldwide, including more than one million in the U.K.

Not quite as endearing as his raw and seductive 2002 debut, O, the second full-length album by Irish troubadour Damien Rice finds him taking a more slapdash approach to his lyrics and arrangements, with balmy tracks like Rootless Tree, Coconut Skins, and Me, My Yoke, and I seemingly made up and recorded on the spot. Strange then that it took so long for 9 to actually arrive, with just a handful of odd collaborations [Tori Amos, Herbie Hancock] and one promising benefit single [Unplayed Piano] to hold fans over during the four-year delay. Nothing here quite achieves the lush poetry on display there, although Rice and his singing companion Lisa Hannigan come close with the creepy opening track 9 Crimes and the damaged whisper-to-a-scream ballad, Elephant.

The album ends with 16 minutes of a Tibetan singing bowl being played; an instrument with alleged healing powers.

Depeche Mode is an English electronic music band formed in 1980, in Basildon, Essex, England. The group's original line-up was Dave Gahan [lead vocals], Martin Gore [keyboards, guitar, vocals, chief songwriter after 1981], Andrew Fletcher [keyboards] and Vince Clarke [keyboards, chief songwriter 1980–81]. Vince Clarke left the band after the release of their 1981 debut album, and was replaced by Alan Wilder [lead keyboards, production 1982–1995]. 'Sounds Of The Universe' is the twelfth full-length album by Depeche Mode, released in Europe on April 20th 2009 and on April 21st 2009 in the U.S.A. and Canada. It will be supported by the Tour of the Universe. The album contains 13 tracks. As with the previous album, 'Playing The Angel', Dave Gahan has once again written three songs with Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott: 'Hole To Feed', 'Come Back' and 'Miles Away / The Truth Is'. 'Spacewalker' is an instrumental. Martin Gore sings the lead of 'Jezebel'. The B-side "Oh Well" is the first track ever to be co-written by Gore and Gahan. The album ends with a 42 second hidden track after 'Corrupt', possibly called 'Interlude No.5', which can be seen as 'Wrong' [reprise]. I have extracted this track and called it track 14, for your listening convenience. 'Wrong' is the first single released from the album. The music video for 'Wrong' was filmed in December 2008 and directed by Patrick Daughters. The video depicts a Ford Crown Victoria rolling backwards down a Los Angeles downtown street, seemingly with no driver at the wheel. A shot inside the car reveals a man in a latex mask lying unconscious in the front seat. When the car bumps another car [but keeps rolling], the man is jolted awake. etc., etc.

Dido Florian Cloud de Bounevialle O'Malley Armstrong [born December 25th 1971 in London, England] professionally known as Dido, is a BRIT Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated English singer-songwriter. Dido was educated at Thornhill Primary, City of London Girls' and Westminster School. After she stole a recorder from school at age five, her parents enrolled her at the Guildhall School of Music in London, England. By the time she reached her teens Dido had learned to play the piano, recorder and the violin. She later studied law at Birkbeck, University of London, while working as a literary agent. She never completed the course, deciding instead to take up music full-time. After learning the guitar, she showcased her skills to audiences during her 2004 Life for Rent tour. In 1998 Dido was signed to the record company Arista and began recording her debut album 'No Angel'. The album was released in the USA in 1999 and about a year later in October 2000 in the UK. Dido really shot to fame when Eminem incorporated 'Thank You' into the massive No.1 hit 'Stan'. For the ‘Stan’ video Dido agreed to wear a padded pregnancy suit and lie in the boot of a car before being dumped in a river. A special edition of ‘No Angel’ was released in January 2001 with enhanced videos of ‘Here With Me’ and ‘Thank You’. The album went to No.1 and stayed there for a number of weeks. Her debut single 'Here With Me' was released in February 2001 and became a hit getting to No.4. 'Safe Trip Home' is the third studio album by Dido, released in the United Kingdom on November 17th 2008. The album features collaborations and production with Jon Brion, her brother Rollo Armstrong, Brian Eno, Mick Fleetwood, Citizen Cope and Questlove.
